Cypress for Fungal Infections
Cypress essential oil demonstrates antifungal activity against Candida species. The main component of cypress essential oil is alpha-pinene, while other constituents are gamme-3-carene, sabinene, and cedrol. These chemicals hinder fungal growth as well as disrupt the formation of biofilm by Candida species. 
Cypress for Allergic Rhinitis
A systematic review conducted by Wilson et al. demonstrated sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) of allergic rhinitis using different herbal ingredients including cypress. 
Antimicrobial Activity of Cypress
Cypress essential oil has antimicrobial activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and this activity is primarily attributed to alpha-pinene and cedrol present in the oil.
